Among other countries, America, Iran, Iraq, Nepal, Palestine, Nigeria and Sudan are prominent. However, the decreasing number of students is a worrying situation for AMU.

The number of foreign students in AMU was at its highest level in 2019-20. At that time, a total of 616 students were studying in the university, which included 462 males and 154 females. But since then there is a continuous decline in the number of foreign students. This number will come down to 178 in 2023-24.

According to AMU administration, no new rules have been implemented for foreign students. Pro. Syed Nawaz Ali Zaidi said that efforts are being made to provide maximum facilities to foreign students.
